{"id":49761,"date":"2015-12-17T00:17:36","date_gmt":"2015-12-17T00:17:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.turismodealmeria.org\/lugar\/monumento-a-los-martires-de-la-libertad\/"},"modified":"2022-05-23T09:10:52","modified_gmt":"2022-05-23T07:10:52","slug":"monumento-a-los-martires-de-la-libertad","status":"publish","type":"lugar","link":"https:\/\/www.turismodealmeria.org\/en\/lugar\/monumento-a-los-martires-de-la-libertad\/","title":{"rendered":"Monument to the martyrs of freedom"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry\">\n<p><strong>Expedition of \u201cColoraos\u201d<\/strong>, so called by the tone of their coats, was an attempt to Spanish liberal insurrection during the Ominous Decade who carried out the liberal \u00e9migr\u00e9s of the Society of the Communards Knights, which operated in Gibraltar after the fall the constitutional regime in 1823.<\/p>\n<p>The Coloraos departed on August 6 from Gibraltar and arrived at Almeria on the fourteenth of the same month and landed forty nine well-armed and uniformed men with their red coats. <strong>They intended to raise the almeriense people against the absolutist Fernando VII<\/strong>.
