{"id":3064,"date":"2024-09-04T08:56:42","date_gmt":"2024-09-04T06:56:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.turismodealmeria.org\/museos\/museo\/museo-del-realismo-espanol-contemporaneo-murec\/"},"modified":"2024-10-14T11:05:29","modified_gmt":"2024-10-14T09:05:29","slug":"museo-del-realismo-espanol-contemporaneo-murec","status":"publish","type":"museo","link":"https:\/\/www.turismodealmeria.org\/museos\/en\/museo\/museo-del-realismo-espanol-contemporaneo-murec\/","title":{"rendered":"Museum of Contemporary Spanish Realism (MuReC)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A project arising from the sum of synergies that since 2012 has united the Diputaci\u00f3n de Almer\u00eda with the Fundaci\u00f3n de Arte Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez Cosentino in the commitment of both institutions to Art and Culture, and from the close relationship that for more than two decades has united the realist artists Antonio L\u00f3pez Garc\u00eda (Tomelloso (Ciudad Real), 1936) and Andr\u00e9s Garc\u00eda Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez (Olula del R\u00edo (Almer\u00eda), 1971), the Museo del Realismo Espa\u00f1ol Contempor\u00e1neo [MUREC] in Almer\u00eda opened its doors on 15 March 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Located in the former Royal Hospital of Santa Mar\u00eda Magdalena, a building restored and refurbished by the Diputaci\u00f3n de Almer\u00eda, the MUREC houses a permanent collection of 271 works of art created between 1890 and 2023 by 134 Spanish artists. The collection, created by the Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez Cosentino Art Foundation expressly for this new publicly owned cultural space, is unique and exceptional both for its discourse &#8211; realism as the common thread &#8211; and for the artists represented.<\/p>\n<p>Distributed over two floors, the MUREC has 11 rooms in which the museum&#8217;s permanent collection is exhibited. A collection, distributed according to chronological criteria, which will allow the visitor to learn about the course of realism as an aesthetic option and artistic concept over more than a century of history.<\/p>\n<p>The first six rooms of the museum are located on the ground floor. Here, as well as presenting, by way of a preamble, the MUREC and explaining why it is located in Almer\u00eda, a journey through the evolution of Spanish Realism from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 1950s begins. A journey in which the presence of artists such as Sorolla, Beruete, Pinazo, Ram\u00f3n Casas, Rusi\u00f1ol, Mir, Gonzalo Bilbao, Benedito, Zuloaga, Mariano Benlliure, L\u00f3pez Mezquita, Antonio Fillol, Romero de Torres, Julio Antonio, Mateo Inurria, Morcillo, Capuz, Gustavo de Maeztu, Zubiaurre, Solana, Ram\u00f3n Gaya, Crist\u00f3bal Ruiz, Sunyer, V\u00e1zquez D\u00edaz, Rosario de Velasco, Juan Crist\u00f3bal, Romero Ressendi, Eduardo Vicente, Garc\u00eda Donaire, Xavier Valls, Campillo, Marisa Pinazo and Mallol Suazo, among many others.<br \/>\nThe first floor of the building houses 5 rooms in which the museum&#8217;s discourse continues, from the 1950s to the present day.
