The Shipyard of the Port of Almería is a historic building located on the west side of the port facilities, which the Port Authority of Almería makes available to the public.

Its design was drawn up in 1914, and construction began in 1919, concluding in 1926. However, it was not until 1929 that operations began there as the Shipyard Engine House, due to a lack of machinery. Its location—then opposite the old warehouse on the Poniente Wharf—was chosen because it was the most sheltered spot and the place where the Port Works Board had set up a repair workshop.
